About Coffee Roasters Pro

A Calgary-born franchise model dedicated to helping independent operators launch focused micro-roastery studios across Alberta and Canada.

Our story

Built in Inglewood, scaled for Alberta

Coffee Roasters Pro was founded in Calgary's Inglewood district with a straightforward conviction: the specialty coffee market in Alberta is ready for a franchise model that treats roasting as a craft discipline rather than a café accessory. Too many aspiring operators struggle to assemble the disparate pieces — equipment vendors, green bean brokers, interior designers, training programmes — while navigating provincial licensing and municipal health inspections without a coordinated guide.

We set out to solve that fragmentation by packaging everything an independent roaster needs into a single franchise pathway. Our headquarters at 1238 9 Avenue SE, Suite 115 sits in the heart of the Inglewood corridor, where creative retail, artisan food production, and community-driven commerce converge. This location serves as our concept studio, training floor, and partner onboarding centre — a working demonstration of the micro-roastery format we help franchise partners replicate in their own markets.

Since establishing our franchise framework, Coffee Roasters Pro has refined six package tiers, a twelve-module training curriculum, and supply contracts spanning origins across Central and South America, East Africa, and Southeast Asia. Our business number BN 842345678AB0001 reflects our registration as an Alberta corporation committed to transparent franchise disclosure and PIPEDA-compliant data practices.

Our mission

Democratising access to specialty roasting

Our mission is to lower the barrier to entry for specialty coffee roasting while maintaining the quality standards that discerning consumers expect. We believe that transparent sourcing, on-site production, and direct retail relationships create stronger communities and more sustainable supply chains than opaque bulk roasting models.

Coffee Roasters Pro franchise partners gain access to institutional knowledge that would take years to accumulate independently — roast profile libraries, supplier relationships, permit templates, and retail merchandising strategies tested in Alberta market conditions. We measure our success by the number of partners who roast their first production batch within six months of signing and maintain quality audit scores above our benchmark threshold in their first year of operation.

What we are — and what we are not

A focused franchise, not a broad hospitality brand

Coffee Roasters Pro concentrates exclusively on the micro-roastery studio format. We are not a restaurant franchise, bakery chain, food delivery platform, or business coaching programme. Our franchise packages do not include commercial kitchen equipment, menu development, delivery logistics, or generic entrepreneurship mentorship. This deliberate focus allows us to deliver deeper expertise in roasting production, green bean procurement, and retail packaging than any generalist hospitality franchise could offer.

Leadership

The team behind your franchise journey

Coffee Roasters Pro is led by a team of roasting professionals, franchise operations specialists, and supply chain managers based at our Calgary headquarters. Our leadership group combines decades of experience in specialty coffee production, Alberta business regulation, and franchise development.

Production & quality

Our head roaster and quality control team maintain the roast profile libraries, cupping protocols, and batch specification standards that every franchise partner follows. They lead training modules on green bean evaluation, roast development, defect identification, and sensory calibration.

Franchise operations

Our operations team manages the partner onboarding pathway, project dashboards, permit coordination, and launch support. Each franchise partner is assigned a dedicated onboarding coordinator who serves as the single point of contact from enquiry through opening day.

Supply chain

Our supply team negotiates origin contracts, manages inventory allocation across partner studios, and provides seasonal rotation recommendations based on aggregate sales data and harvest calendars from producing regions.

Design & concept

Our design studio produces floor plans, brand application packages, and retail counter specifications for every package tier. Designs are adapted to local floor plates while maintaining brand consistency across the Coffee Roasters Pro network.

Community

Rooted in Calgary's Inglewood corridor

Inglewood is one of Calgary's oldest and most vibrant neighbourhoods, known for independent boutiques, artisan producers, and a walkable retail environment along 9th Avenue SE. Coffee Roasters Pro chose this location deliberately — to demonstrate that a micro-roastery studio can thrive alongside galleries, vintage shops, and creative food producers without requiring a high-traffic shopping mall anchor.

Our studio welcomes prospective franchise partners for tours, cupping sessions, and onboarding workshops by appointment. We encourage every enquiry to visit our production floor in person to experience the workflow, equipment configuration, and retail presentation that define the Coffee Roasters Pro standard.
