Operations charter

A franchise model engineered for specialty roasting, not generic food service

Coffee Roasters Pro exists to help independent operators launch focused micro-roastery studios — spaces where green coffee is sourced transparently, roasted on-site, and sold directly to retail and wholesale customers. Our operations charter defines how every franchise partner receives a repeatable production workflow, Alberta-compliant business documentation, and a brand identity that communicates craft without resorting to restaurant or bakery tropes.

From our headquarters at 1238 9 Avenue SE, Suite 115 in Calgary, our team coordinates site selection guidance, equipment procurement, supply agreements, and the training curriculum that turns a first-time roaster into a confident production lead. Each partner receives a documented standard operating procedure covering batch logging, quality control cupping protocols, and retail counter presentation — ensuring that every bag leaving your studio meets the Coffee Roasters Pro specification.

We designed the franchise pathway around Alberta's growing demand for locally roasted specialty coffee. Calgary's Inglewood district offers foot traffic, creative retail adjacency, and a community that values transparent sourcing — making it an ideal anchor market for pilot studios and regional expansion. Partners outside Calgary receive the same equipment bundles and supply contracts, adapted to their municipal licensing requirements.

Unlike broad hospitality franchises, Coffee Roasters Pro concentrates exclusively on the roasting studio format: a production floor, a retail counter, and optional cupping bar seating. This narrow focus keeps capital requirements predictable, simplifies municipal approvals, and allows operators to master one craft deeply rather than juggling full-menu kitchen operations.

Production readiness

From equipment delivery to first roast batch

Every Coffee Roasters Pro franchise package includes a structured installation and commissioning sequence. Our technical team coordinates roaster placement, exhaust routing, electrical load verification, and initial calibration — so your first production roast occurs under supervised conditions with full batch documentation.

Partners receive a commissioning checklist covering gas line inspection, chaff collection setup, software configuration for roast profiling, and safety walkthroughs compliant with Alberta occupational health standards. This methodical approach reduces launch delays and ensures your studio passes municipal inspection on the first attempt.

Partner onboarding

Structured onboarding from enquiry to opening day

Coffee Roasters Pro guides every franchise partner through a four-stage onboarding pathway. Stage one covers territory review and package tier selection. Stage two initiates concept design and lease coordination. Stage three manages equipment procurement, supply contract activation, and municipal permit support. Stage four delivers on-site training, soft opening support, and your official launch checklist.

Our onboarding team maintains a shared project dashboard so you always know the status of equipment shipments, training schedules, and outstanding documentation. Most partners complete the full pathway within forty-eight weeks, though compact studio formats in pre-approved Inglewood locations can accelerate to thirty-six weeks.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

No. Coffee Roasters Pro is exclusively a micro-roastery franchise. We do not operate restaurants, bakeries, food delivery services, or business coaching programmes. Our franchise packages cover specialty coffee roasting studios — production floors, retail counters, and optional cupping bars. If you are looking for a full-service café, commercial kitchen, meal delivery platform, or generic entrepreneurship coaching, Coffee Roasters Pro is not the right fit. Our model is designed for operators who want to roast, package, and sell specialty coffee.

Most partners complete onboarding within forty-eight weeks from signed agreement to opening day. Compact studio formats in pre-approved Calgary locations may launch in as few as thirty-six weeks. Timelines depend on lease negotiations, municipal permits, and equipment lead times.

No prior roasting experience is required. Our twelve-module training curriculum covers green bean evaluation, roast profiling, quality control cupping, equipment maintenance, and retail sales. Training occurs on our Calgary production floor and at your studio during commissioning.

Yes. While our headquarters and training floor are in Calgary's Inglewood district, franchise partners may operate anywhere in Alberta or across Canada. Package documentation and supply contracts adapt to your provincial licensing requirements.

Franchise partners pay a monthly brand and supply coordination fee calculated as a percentage of gross retail and wholesale revenue, plus the cost of green beans purchased through our supply network. Full fee schedules are provided in the franchise disclosure document during onboarding stage one.

Complete the contact form on our website or email [email protected]. We will send a digital franchise kit containing package tier comparisons, indicative pricing, sample floor plans, and the onboarding pathway overview within two business days.
